Software Engineer

Lumina is seeking an outstanding software developer with excellent skills in quantitative analysis. Lumina is a small growing software company, located in the south corner of Silicon Valley.  This is a great opportunity for someone who has already demonstrated excellence and flexibility as a developer, but always wants to improve their skills and broaden their experience while working on important and exciting products. You will be closely mentored by a truly outstanding designer and developer, who is also an easy person to work with.  You will join as a core member of a small team on development of existing and new products. 

You must have a broad quantitative and engineering skill set, user-interface design, and good communication skills.  Solid C++ development skills in Windows are essential.  You should have conceptual understanding and experience of several of these: Decision analysis, quantitative multi-dimensional modeling, Excel spreadsheet programming, probabilistic analysis, data analysis, relational database programming, OLAP (or business intelligence systems), optimization, systems dynamics modeling, machine learning.  Previous development experience with these products (or others like them) is a plus: Analytica, Excel, R, MatLab, and Tableau. You should be somewhat of a visionary, who can grasp the conceptual essence of the technologies involved and recognize how the combinations of technologies opens up new opportunities.
